Upcoming release…
Artist: SKUFF AND INJA
Title: THE SKUFF AND INJA SHOW
Label: IN RECORDS
Release Date: February 20th 2010
After smashing up the clubs and airwaves with the banger ‘Hat Low’, featuring SkinnyMan and Fallacy, Inja is back with a full-length collaboration with fellow Delegates of Culture member, Skuff.
Cleverly flitting between hip-hop, dubstep and outright club-rattling electronic funk, ‘The Skuff and Inja Show’ demonstrates precisely why these two emcees tower above the rest on any riddim.
With ‘The Skuff and Inja Show’, these Cambridge natives have delivered an LP more solid than China’s Great Wall, weaving infectious, chanting hooks with firesome beats and rapid flows.
The dirty-south tinged ‘Famslam’, featuring Task Force, is nothing less than the vivid poetry you’d expect from the Highbury folk, who trading bars with Skuff and Inja more than holding their own. The Emiliana Torrini sampling ‘Sunnicide’ takes the pace down a few gears, recalling the dramas facing the duo on the day to day. Double time ‘Forward Motion’ then takes introspection into fast pace, a perfect contrast to the albums straight up, unrelenting hip-hop tunes. The DJ Nappa (Phi Life Cypher) produced ‘Ital Violence’ lends itself to be bought on 12” vinyl and would equally suit a 70’s cop drama soundtrack as it does a hip hop jam.
The LP rounds off with a flaming BioViolence dubstep remix of ‘Hat Low’, ending the album ends as it begins – adrenaline pumped, and nothing short of gargantuan.
